# episode entry clip setup

After entering an episode, your first task is to define the audio segments (clips) and assign speakers on the timeline.

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Adding Clips

* Select the **Add Dialogue Tool (N)** at the top of the timeline.
* Left-click on the desired position within a track.
* A new clip will be created at that location.
  {% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Trimming & Moving Clips

#### Repositioning

* Drag and drop clips freely to any position on the timeline.

#### Splitting Clips

* Select the **Trim Tool (T)**.
* Click on the specific point you wish to split.
* Use this to separate sentences or adjust precise timing.

#### Combining Takes

* Split the clip at the desired point and apply a different take to each segment.
  {% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Restoring Trimmed Audio

While the **Trim Tool (T)** is selected:

* Locate the **Clip Handles** (edges of the clip).
* Drag the handles to trim more audio or restore previously cut sections.
* Extend boundaries forward or backward as needed.
  {% endstep %}
  {% endstepper %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.hudson-ai.com/dubbing-studio-guide-jp/ex/speech-box/episode-entry-clip-setup.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
